A giant among babies

Today Maddie had her 4 month checkup and shots. She was so good for the doctor, even he was surprised that she didnt cry when he looked in her ears and in her mouth. He was quite impressed with the way she was checking him out as much as he was checking her out. He also said he was impressed with how vocal she is. During her checkup she had to be measured and weighed and she is 27 inches long and weighs a whopping 16 lbs and 10oz. The doctor said that she was actually off the chart for both her height and weight. They are proportionate to one another so there is no worry, but that her measurements were closer in line with that of a six month old. I was a bit surprised but really I shouldnt have been, none of her clothes fit, I thought it was the dryer shrinking them and I thought that the size 9MONTH onesies that fit her must run a bit small. The doctor even made a joke that she will probably be good at basketball. This isnt the first time a medical professional has commented on our babies future endeavors. During my 26 week ultrasound, the technician stated that our baby had legs that were long enough for a baby two weeks older than she was. She said that our baby could grow up to be a model. Well I was the tallest girl in my class all throughout elementary school so it looks like Maddie just might follow suit. Thats good because being tall kept me safe from the bullys. Well I am just happy that the doctor said our baby was perfectly healthy so here is a pic of Maddie sleeping after her shots, which she did all day.

Four Months

This weekend Maddie turned four months old so I thought I would post a bunch of recent photos of her. She is getting so big. Over the past few weeks she has really developed a little personality. She can babble up a storm, mostly vowel sounds but a few bbbrrrs.. and M's. I keep trying to get her to say mom but she just laughs at me. She also "learned" to screech which I am not too fond of. It was cute at first but it is quite high pitched and when she does it right in my ear when I am holding her, I swear I have some hearing lose. She has also started sitting up with support and has started to try to roll over. The sitting up is cute but it has brought with it some serious drooling, it just comes out like a faucet. I guess its time for a bib.
As for Daniel and I, we are doing great. Tonight we went to dinner together, it was actually the first night ever that we have gone to a restaurant since Maddie was born and the first time we have ever really left her in someone else's care. I felt a little sad leaving her but I knew she was in good hands at my parents house and once we got to the restaurant I was ok. It was very nice to have dinner with my husband without one of us having to stop in the middle of eating and tend to the baby. We actually got to eat at the same time. Such a simple pleasure that isnt appreciated until its gone, but I wouldnt have it any other way.
Well here are the pics:

Dad and Maddie in the kitchen.

I just love this little robot outfit, yeah she looks like a boy but I dont care, its so cute!

Here she is in her overalls, she looks like a country girl. I had to post a pic of her feet below, she has the chubbiest little feet ever.

Here she is half asleep in frog pajamas (I love that book!)
